This involves an individual’s ability to acquire (learn), retrieve (recall) and retain (store) information over time. The tests conducted within a neuropsychological evaluation measure short-term memory, which represents a temporary store for recently presented information. When individual’s experience difficulty in this area, it often presents as forgetfulness regarding details in daily life. Issues with memory loss can be a significant source of frustration as many aspects of daily life depend upon the continuity of our memory. Following the evaluation, memory issues can be identified which will then guide an individualized plan for strategies.
